She may have died in 1902 or 1930, and she may be buried in Ohio, Nebraska, or Colorado. Others have her dying as Purley’s wife and having no other children. Some ancestry trees have Mollie/Mary marrying two other men and having at least one other child. Mollie is believed to have married a man in 1886 named Purley Purkey. It’s not clear who Lyn’s father was or the situation surrounding Lyn’s pregnancy, but he would have been born just after the census was taken in 1880 and died a few months later. From what I can tell, Mollie was born in Ohio around 1864 and she came to Kansas with her family sometime before 1875. I was able to seek out this census record on and it has her name as Mary. I found a news article from 1979 about this grave which says that Mollie was the daughter of Sylvester and Letitia Wyckoff (often spelled without the K) who farmed on that area of land at the time. The grave was located in 1955 when Textron first began construction on the land. At Textron Aviation in west Wichita (near the Cessna Citation Service Center and the airport) you can find the grave of Lyn Wyckoff, believed to be the son of 16-year-old unmarried Mary Frances “Mollie” Wyckoff.
